Alevo's New Factory

When Australia's leading manufacturer of medical tables looked to build a new state-of-the-art factory to support their growing business, they turned to Calystro for guidance on what technology they needed to improve productivity. They needed a network that "just worked" and supported various applications including high definition video meetings. Several use cases were identified that could be solved through cloud-first technologies.

Alevo needed seamless Wi-Fi coverage throughout the office, manufacturing, and warehouse areas to allow wireless device connectivity. They needed fast and secure internet access for team members who worked there, and secure connectivity between all their locations across the Australia. Alevo was also looking to understand visitor traffic through their showroom, and to ensure the air quality across the factory was safe for their team and visitors.

A new Cisco Meraki network and IoT solution was designed for Alevo's new factory. A carefully designed wireless network using Meraki MR Wi-Fi 6 access points was combined with redundant Meraki MS switches and a Meraki MX Security Appliance to deliver a fast and reliable network. Meraki SD-WAN technology allowed secure site-to-site connectivity between Alevo's offices at other locations across Australia. Meraki MV smart cameras were installed for physical security at all the entrances and to understand the flow of visitors within the showroom. Meraki MT environmental sensors were installed to constantly measure air quality. Calystro would proactively manage the entire solution, ensuring outages are quickly resolved and security updates applied over the weekends to minimize disruption to their business.

The client was very pleased with the results. The team has been able to focus on running their business, rather than worrying about the network infrastructure. The environmental sensors proved valuable within the first week, as they were able to quickly identify and fix an exhaust fan that was installed incorrectly through high Total Volatile Organic Compound (TVOC) sensor readings.
